TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO TRADE UNIONS DELIVER LETTER TO PRIME MINISTER AGAINST VACCINE MANDATES

By a staff Reporter: Trade union leaders, led by head of the Joint Trade Union Movement Ancel Roget, delivered a letter to the Office of the Prime Minister at Whitehall on Wednesday regarding the government's vaccine mandate for public sector workers come mid-January, which JTUM is against.

Speaking with the media after delivering the letter, Roget emphasized that the movement is not against vaccination but they are totally against the forcing of mandatory vaccination on any individual.

Despite Attorney General Faris Al Rawi on Tuesday saying that collective bargaining holds no weight in the matter, Mr Roget said there was no agreement with unions before Prime Minister Dr keith Rowley made the announcement on Saturday.

He added that delivering this letter was just the first of a number of steps as they push back against any vaccine mandate. He then read the details of the letter.

Roget again slammed what he called the "high-handed" and "unjust" approach of the government which he said will not get the desired outcome.
