BY A STAFF REPORTER: A battle of attrition has broken out between the outgoing chairman of the state human rights commission, retired Justice Girish Gupta and few officials including one of the member, Naparajit Mukherjee. Sources informed ANM News that the chairperson allegedly circumvented all government rules to award contract of a video film on Human Rights.  ``The company has charged  Rs 3.5 lakhs for the shoot,'' a senior SHRC official said. According to state Human Rights Commission sources, Naparajit Mukherjee, who was former state director general of police before being appointed as the member of the state Human Rights Commission has raised strong objection to Gupta's recommendation that ``member is biased and has no knowledge of the law.'' Officials claimed that the Chairperson allegedly took several files to his home and kept it with him for many days and has now sent them to Naparajit Mukherjee for clearance. Sources said Mukherjee has refused to clear those files. Chairperson Gupta whose tenure concluded has wrote a letter to the Governor Jagdish Dhankar, red flagging the issues. Sources said Naparajit Mukherjee has also sent a comprehensive report to the state government.
