It is learnt that an independent candidate of Ward 22 has been allegedly beaten up. Police have already reportedly evacuated the independent candidate. Meanwhile, the BJP candidate for Ward 22 has made serious allegations that Trinamool is trying to capture booths with outsiders. The counter-ruling party alleged that the BJP had brought outsiders. The Election Commission has summoned a report on the incident. Polling began in 144 wards on Sunday. In addition, 23,000 police is deployed.
