QUEBEC WOMAN LOSES THOUSANDS AFTER CLICKING ON FACEBOOK AD

By Chandrayee Roy Choudhury, Canada

Convinced by company's agents, Harpreet Sahota of Quebec, thought that she could hit pay dirt if she invested more. So she took out loans and maxed her credit cards. When an enticing AD popped up on Facebook offering her an investment opportunity Sahota clicked and entered her contact information.

Within 5 minutes she started receiving phone calls from different financial companies. It started with about $300 to open an account. But this small investment quickly snowballed into an avalanche. So she sent more money. Then she was told she was losing funds, and needed to invest more. She took $15000 from her credit line & also her mum's Gold jewellery and maxed out her credit cards.

She got herself into debt ended up spending $ 102,000 on investment and fees.

Unfortunately it was total scam leaving her in heavy debts.

Fraud is big business for organized crime around the world. Criminals are always exploiting new ways to take you money.
