Def min clears pending submarine project, Indian navy in Malacca strait

The defence ministry has approved a Rs 43000 crore project to build six conventional submarines. Defence minister Rajnath Singh has approved the project which officials mentioned was pending for the last two decades. In the meantime, Indian Navy pushed the aggressive accelerator by sending a submarine to Malacca strait. Sources said it was intentional shallow navigation to show the Chinese that Indians are also prepared.
