Gyaneswari scam: Amritava and his father questioned by CBI, might be arrested

He was declared dead in the Gyaneswari Express accident along with 147 other passengers, about eleven year earlier.  Amritava Chaudhury, a resident of Jorabagan area in north Kolkata, however is still alive and was interrogated for hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a scam that allegedly helped the man’s sister get a government job. His family, too, was paid monetary compensation by the state and the Centre, officials said.
Amritava's father, Mihir Chaudhury, was also questioned overnight by slueths. The Chaudhurys were summoned to the anti-corruption branch of the CBI at Nizam Palace. Amritava Chaudhury told the media that he is ready to return the monetary compensation along with interest and his sister would resign from the job she was given. “I have been framed,” he said.
