Heavy rain lashes Odisha, IMD issues red alert for six districts

Puri district in Odisha recorded its wettest ever September day on Monday, with several locations experiencing record-breaking rainfall. . A red alert was issued by the weather agency for Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Khorda, Dhenkanal districts.



The state is presently under the influence of a deep depression, which according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), will pass through northern Odisha districts today before it weakens in the next 24-hours
