BY A STAFF REPORTER: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told a news conference in Ankara on Friday that Turkey has decided to start the process of Finland's joining NATO. "We have decided to begin the parliamentary approval process of the NATO accession protocol in Finland," Erdogan said. "With Finland's membership, NATO will become stronger and play a more effective role in protecting global security and stability," Erdogan said. "Once the approval process is completed, our relationship with Finland will be further strengthened on the basis of the NATO alliance," he said. '
