He has stepped down from the post of national coordinator of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (PPC), Digital Media and social media and digital communication cell of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). Anil wrote, "An intolerant call to those who are fighting for freedom of speech to withdraw a tweet. I refused. '
