Pressure is mounting on TMC to act against those involved in brazen corruption. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting around noon on Thursday to take stock of the situation. The party desperately needs some leverage to lift the sagging credibility. There is a clamour from the rank and file and senior leaders to drop Partha Chatterjee from the cabinet. Whispers in the corridors of the party also indicated dropping a few other tainted ministers.
