Horrible case of bullying: Indian student choked by classmate

By a Staff Reporter:  Shan Pritmani, a white student at Coppell Middle School in Texas, was "strangled to death for more than four minutes". A video featuring classmates highlighted that she was being bullied and shared online. It shows a student approaching an Indian American boy, who is sitting on a bench and demanding that he stand up. When she refused to give up her seat, the American student got angry and began to strangle her. He grabbed the boy's neck from behind with his elbow and pushed him against his seat. The North American Association of Indian Students said in a tweet: "A white student named Shan Pritmani, a middle school student, was assaulted and strangled for over four minutes by a white student. The incident took place at Coppell Middle School, downtown Dallas. Shan was suspended for three days and the attacker was arrested one day". The incident reportedly took place on May 11. The official Twitter handle of Ravi Karkara, an advocate, wrote, "On Wednesday, May 11, at lunch hour, Shan Pritmani was physically attacked and strangled by another student in his middle school. In the video, Shaan is seen sitting at the lunch table while the other student asks him to vacate the seat. Shaan can be heard saying, "No, I'm not getting up. No one is sitting here."
